The injection molding process is interesting to us. We thought you might like to learn something about how it's done.
The following illustration is of three phases of the injection molding process.

Key
A - Hydraulic Clamp Cylinder
B - Moving or (B) side Platen
C - Mold
D - Stationary or (A) side Platen
E - Machine Nozzle - Hot melted polyethylene enters mold through this nozzle
F - Machine Barrel - Are of machine where resin and color concentrate are heated and mixed
G - Hopper

Basic Process

1 - Plasticizing a preset amount of polyethylene (a type of very durable plastic) material in an injection unit equipped with a reciprocating screw

2 - Injecting material into the cavity of a mold being held together by the tonnage of the clamp unit

3 - The part is cooled, mold halves separate, part is ejected
